Martha Jefferson Outpatient Care Center
The OCC is a 93,000 sf “bedless” hospital facility constructed in twelve months and within the original capital budget. The OCC includes a floating-slab, open MRI; three-OR outpatient surgery suite; a dedicated urgent care center; full-service radiology department; a women’s health center, and physician lease space. Visionary interior design concepts have received national acclaim.
Martha Jefferson Replacement Hospital Campus
Matthews Development Company is providing program management services for the development of the replacement campus, master planned for 1.3MM square feet of ultimate capacity. Successful rezoning of campus by MDC in 2003; Planning underway.
Monticello: The Home of Thomas Jefferson
Monticello is the only residence in the United States on the World Heritage List. Services include development consulting and team leadership for the rezoning of the historic site for a world-class visitors center, administrative complex, and restoration of the mountaintop to its Jefferson-era presentation. Rezoning approved 2005; program management underway.
1470 Pantops Place - Charlottesville, Virginia
Class A, 32,000 square foot office building in a planned development on Route 250 at Interstate 64 in Albemarle County, Virginia. Tenants include the Social Security Administration, Office of Hearings and Appeals, and a pediatric dental specialist. MDC ownership through Pantops Group LLC.
Rio East Professional Park Phase I and II
Five building, ten-suite medical and dental office condominium totaling 35,000 square feet. First three buildings completed in 2002; Buildings four and five completed in 2005. A premier medical and dental address in Charlottesville.
University Village III - Independent Living Condominiums
Turnkey development of the expansion and renovation to a spectacular ridge-top six-story, 96-unit luxury senior condominium in Albemarle County, Virginia. Commanding views of Farmington Country Club, Birdwood, and the Blue Ridge Mountains near the University of Virginia. An MD Development collaboration.
Westminster Canterbury of the Blue Ridge
$60MM expansion and renovation to an accredited CCRC in Charlottesville. Special logistical challenges include a landfill remediation, special foundations, intense renovations to occupied space, resident and neighbor relations, and temporary field-kitchen operations that served over 40,000 special-needs meals on a tight mountaintop site. Project completed in 2004 ahead of schedule, with seven-figure savings.
Edenwald
Renovation and addition to an accredited CCRC on a tight urban site in Baltimore, at Towson Town Center and Goucher College. Phase I includes renovations and additions to a 107,000 sf health center; Phase II is a twelve-story, 250,000 sf addition with structured parking, a wellness center, assisted living, and six levels of independent living apartments. Construction underway January 2005.
